Farrotto is an updated version of the traditional Italian "Risotto". Instead of slowly simmering Arborio Rice we have replaced the rice with "Farro", one of our favorite whole grains.
Like Arborio Rice, Farro absorbs the various flavors while cooking, making a mouthwateringly delicious side dish. We actually prefer the texture of Farro a little more than rice and hope you will enjoy these creations. Boun Appetito!
In a medium saucepan combine the entire contents of the package with 1.75 cups cold water. Add one tablespoon of olive oil and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer. Stirring occasionally, cook, uncovered until water is absorbed and the farro is tender usually 10-12 minutes.
Fluff with a fork and let sit for a few minutes!
