Helps my husband sleep... I had purchased this product some time ago to relax me when I felt overwhelmed or stressed, but didn't use it much. My husband has a very stressful job, so he has trouble staying asleep. Many days he would complain about his lack of sleep and feeling tired. He started taking this product, unbeknownst to me. Then one day he asked me to order this for him! He said that it helps him stay asleep so he feels rested the next day. It certainly works for him. March 26, 2013

Fabulous! This is an incredible and powerful supplement; I begin taking it in the evening when the light decreases in late fall and then add a morning regime as winter comes on. Ok 5-HTP supplement Too much B6 if you plan to take more than 50mg. Found I broke out (high amounts of B6 may cause acne) and the tabs sometimes didn't go down very well due to their shape. July 31, 2012

Yes! Enteric coated, super cheap, easy to swallow, loads of benefits. I noticed a major difference in my mood and quality of sleep. I've settled around 3 tabs a day that I take with dinner since they can make me a little sleepy sometimes. I've recommended this brand to so many people. 5htp is available pretty much everywhere now, but for way more money and not even enteric coated. July 29, 2012

tried it I tried it and prefer the Doctors Best over this brand. This product wants you to take two a day and Doctors Best is one a day and that works better for me. I also felt happy on Doctors Best and feel nothing with this product. September 4, 2010

l-5-Hydroxytryptophan is the precursor to serotonin, a mood and appetite regulating neurotransmitter produced within the body.

It has been combined with Vitamin C and Vitamin B6, an important cofactor in the conversion to serotonin. The tablets are easy-to-swallow, enteric-coated tablets to minimalize any potential gastric discomfort.

Use under the guidance of a healthcare practitioner. Start with a low dose of one tablet (50 mg) taken daily with a meal. Increase the dose slowly (every 3-5 days) up to a maximum of four tablets (200 mg). Total daily intake should be divided into two or more doses, with no more than two tablets per dose.

Warnings

This product should not be consumed by children or by pregnant or lactating women.
Some may experience gastrointestinal (GI) upset, diarrhea or nausea while taking this product which usually disappears by reducing dosage or is minimized by taking with food. As with any supplement, if discomfort persists discontinue use.
Those suffering from gut disorders such as ulcers, irritable bowel disease, Crohn's disease, celiac disease, etc., should not use 5-HTP.
Those using MAO-inhibitors, antidepressants and drugs containing fenfluramine should not use 5-HTP.
