Naturtint Permanent Hair Color 4G Golden Chestnut -- 4.5 fl oz
Naturtint is a wonderful permanent hair color-- it covers gray very well, and does not have the harmful ingredients that other hair colors might have. Another thing I like is that it comes in containers that can be resealed so that if you have short hair and don't need all of the product, you can use just what you need and save the rest for another time. I usually get about 3 times out of one box which makes it very economical as well.

I have been using this hair color for many years and I always get compliment on the color and its shine. The product is very mild to the hair and the scalp, no ammonia strong smell, but it works wonderfully covering the grays, so I can leave it long on my hair without worrying about burning my hair or scalp or overdo with coloring.

I have dark brown/almost black hair and this color turned by hair black. However, the roots, which are gray, took on the golden chestnut color. I'll stickl to my light golden chestnut color instead which gives my hair a medium brown color. Also, product does cover gray well.

Darker than expected
but still within guideline on the packaging. When I was coloring my hair I think the liquid went on well, seem to absorb quickly. But when I was rinsing it out my hair felt so incredibly stripped, as if you could break it instead of it bending. But after the conditioner was applied everything turned out ok. I wish they would sell the conditioner as a separate product, it was amazing. I wanted something a little more red so I am going to combine with one of the other shades next time and see if that gets me the color I want. I appreciate the lack of ammonia but wish it didn't have hydrogen peroxide. Color is still true after about 2 weeks.

Best of the best
Naturtint products are my favorites for all the obvious reasons--condition well, free of harsh chemicals, etc. After trying several shades, I would rate this shade the highest, for those with dark brown hair as their base color. It adds just enough pizzazz while still appearing natural. I previously used the mahogany chestnut, which was also beautiful, but looked less natural, especially under direct light.
