Purity Farms Organic Ghee Clarified Butter -- 7.5 oz
Completely flavorless, would not buy again
I would not buy this brand again, as it tastes like cardboard. Completely flavorless. I normally use a brand called Paleo Butter (ghee), and it is made from 100% grass fed cows. While it's twice the price, you can taste the direct butter flavor, but with Purity Farms ghee, you cannot. With Paleo Butter brand, I can scramble eggs with it and they are delicious. And I butter toast and top with jam, which is also great tasting. Fortunately I only bought one jar of Purity Farms brand as a "test" (since Paleo Butter is $9.99), but clearly you get what you pay for in flavor with Paleo brand. I guess I will try using my sole jar of Purity Farms ghee in baked goods that require butter or shortening in a recipe, as it would be no different than using bland shortening (although ghee is better for you nutrition wise.) So while it's not a total loss, I will continue to use the "other expensive brand and much more flavorful ghee" to butter toast, scramble eggs, and sometimes just dip my finger in for a quick taste. With Purity Farms ghee, you wouldn't want to use it overtly, but covertly will do (hidden within a recipe.) I guess it all depends on how you want to use the ghee.

Oh, the buttery!
It has a buttery quality (obviously!) that lends amazing flavor to everything it's used with. I've now used it as part of a dip, a spread, a cooking oil, and all by itself on hot bread - it is just wonderful all around!

Yum and Yum
Delicious, healthy (grass fed, organic, hormone free, etc), reasonably priced and easy to cook with. What else could you ask for?

Excellent in Indian recipes
I bought this specifically for use in Indian recipes, curries and the like. I have no experience in this and, therefore, no point of reference for comparison with other similar products. I can only deal with price comparisons and found it to be very reasonably priced.

Choose ghee over butter
I use this for cooking..good quality and easier buying from Vitacost than searching it out in stores
