1 cup uncooked rice
1 3/4 cups water
1/2 tsp salt (optional)
1 tsp butter (optional)
1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan
2. Bring to a boil, stir once.
3. Cover with a tight fitting lid or foil; reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.
4. Remove from heat and let stand (covered) 5-10 minutes longer
Yields approximately 3 cups cooked rice.
