Dandelion
Description: While most people think of dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) as a bothersome weed in their lawns, it also is an excellent source of many vitamins and minerals. Its leaves are high in Vitamin A, Vitamin B, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, calcium, Iron, Potassium, and phosphorus.
Dandelion has long been used as a means of removing toxins from the body, treating such varied diseases as those relating to the liver, kidney, gallbladder, and digestive tract.
Dandelion also has anti-inflammatory properties which aid it in easing inflammation and muscle spasms. In high doses, dandelion is also an effective diuretic.

Dandelion root helps to tone the liver. It also helps to ease digestion, and is safe to use for constipation during pregnancy.

Natural Sources: Dandelion greens may be eaten in salads, or brewed as a tea.

Useful in treatment of: pregnancy and Post Partum.

Recommended Dosage: As a tea, several cups daily.

Contraindications: Should not be used by persons with a history of gallstones.
