| Lactase |
| Description: Lactase is an enzyme which is needed for the digestion of milk and other dairy products. It allows lactose to be converted into glucose. Because it aids the body in digesting lactase, it may be helpful in cases of lactose intolerance. Enzyme therapy is the most effective way to naturally combat food allergies. Since some allergies are caused by the bodys inability to process specific foods, the addition of the digestive enzymes needed for these foods may help ease symptoms.1 is one of the most widely recommended of these. If digestive problems are caused by lactose intolerance, taking lactase may help ease digestion. Acidophilus may also be helpful, as it is a natural source of lactase. Natural Sources: Yogurts and other foods containing acidophilus. Useful in treatment of: food allergies, indigestion and heartburn, Irritable Bowel Syndrome Recommended Dosage: Varied depending upon reason for supplementation. Contraindications: Individuals with dairy allergies should not use yogurt as a source of lactase supplementation. References: 1Taussig, S., Yoloyama, M., et al.
