| Description: Manganese is a mineral which is needed for healthy skin, bone, and cartilage. It is also needed to improve glucose tolerance, and helps to activate the antioxidant superoxide dismutase. Most people do not ingest enough manganese. Low blood levels of manganese are often associated with osteoporosis. Copper and Iron reduce absorption of manganese.1 Manganese may be helpful in the treatment of osteoporosis.2 Natural Sources: Beet Tops, Leafy Green Vegetables, Nuts, Pineapple, Seeds, Wheat Bran, Wheat Germ. Useful in treatment of: osteoporosis. Recommended Dosage: 5 to 20 mg daily. Contraindications: High doses have been associated with dementia and other psychiatric symptoms.
