| Motherwort |
| Description: Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) is an herb which has long been used in the treatment of problems relating to the female reproductive system. It is also believed that motherwort is effective for treating cardiac problems; no studies have been done on this, however. Motherwort is useful for inducing menstruation, treating the symptoms of Pre-Menstrual Syndrome, and easing vaginal dryness. Motherwort can ease anxiety and tension. In addition, it can help strengthen and tone the uterus, making it strong enough to maintain pregnancy.1 It should not, however, be used during the first trimester, as it may cause spontaneous abortion. Useful in treatment of: anxiety, pregnancy and Post Partum. Recommended Dosage: Not established. Contraindications: Should not be used during the first trimester of pregnancy.
