| Description: Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid. It is used by the body to create the amino acid, which in turn is used to synthesize two neurotransmitters that promote alertness, dopamine and norepinephrine. Phenylalanine has been shown to improve moods in over 75% of a studied group of depressed patients.1 It is especially effective when used in two forms: amino acid L-phenylalanine and its mirror image D-phenylalanine.2 Natural Sources: Meat products.
