| Description: Sarsaparilla (Smilax officinalis) is an herb recommended for the treatment of skin disorders such as eczema and psoriasis. It has also been used historically as a treatment for liver disease and syphilis. Sarsaparilla is also recommended as a digestive aid and appetite stimulant. Herbs which act as anti-inflammatories or analgesics may be helpful in the treatment of osteoarthritis. These include Devils Claw, Ginger, Horsetail, sarsaparilla, Turmeric, and White Willow. Studies of their efficacy have not been done, however. Useful in treatment of: rheumatoid arthritis. Recommended Dosage: 1 cup tea, two to three times daily. Contraindications: None. References: |
