| Wild Indigo |
| Description: Wild Indigo (Baptisia tinctoria) is believed to have antibacterial and antiviral properties. Its root is used to make a tea which, when ingested, is believed to remove toxins from boils, abscesses, and other infected lesions. Wild Indigo is also useful in treating throat conditions including laryngitis and tonsillitis. It is often used in combination with echinacea as an immune function stimulant. Wild Indigo can be applied as a poultice to cracked nipples. However, they should be cleaned carefully before allowing a baby to nurse. Wild Indigo, taken with echinacea and Goldenseal, stimulates the immune system and helps it to fight influenza.1 Useful in treatment of: influenza. Recommended Dosage: 1 cup tea twice or three times daily. Contraindications: May cause nausea or vomiting in large doses. Should not be taken during pregnancy. References: 1Beuscher N, Kopanski L.
