Very small and tight
These are soft with no seams or metal bits to catch, which is great but I too, didn't realise they would be so small, and they don't stretch too much. I'd probably estimate 3cm diameter. Unfortunately this is just too small for my thick long hair and while they are great (sturdy, unbudging) at the bottom of a braid, I absolutely cannot get these around a ponytail without pain.

Small but sturdy
These elastic bands are very small which I did not realize when I purchased them. They surprised me by holding more hair than I would have guessed. However, I did make very good use of them by joining together my very long hair in several places, twining them together to create an older hair style in which the hair is balled up and rest just above the neck. *** TIP...they also make great bread (or for other food items) ties. Just use them new before using in your hair..ha

not what I wanted
These "elastics" are nylon like tights, and they are tiny. I have thick hair, and they won't even wrap around twice. Don't order these, order the other scunci elastics

Smooth all the way around, no seams or metal!
These have been my favorite hair ties for years. They are elastic and perfectly stretchy yet they last forever...I lose them before they lose their strength. I toss them in the wash every once in a while as well and that tightens them back up. They are actually made of nylon so there is no seam where anything is glued together and no metal holding ends together.
