Seaweed Iceland Wakame Raw Description
Wild Hand Harvested
Product of Iceland
Wakame is a fat free, cholesterol free food, rich in vitamins A and B, and essential minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium.
Atlantic wakame grows wild and is harvested by hand from pure Icelandic waters. It's dried using renewable geothermal energy to bring you the highest quality food source with a low carbon footprint.
Atlantic wakame is closely related to Japanese wakame and is also known as dabberlocks. In Icelandic, it's called marinkjarni.
Wakame has a mild flavor which blends well with other vegetables. Wakame is excellent for salads, soups, sauces, stews and casseroles, and can be wrapped around fish or savory fillings.
For best results, soak in water for 10 minutes to overnight. It can also be toasted as a snack and crumbled as a condiment. Wakame turns light green when cooked.
