Clean and Safe This dishwasher detergent cleans just as well as national brands. I don't rinse my dishes very much, run the machine packed full, and everything comes out clean. The instructions say to fill both the regular cup and extra detergent cup, but I never do that. I put detergent in the main cup only, about 3/4 full, and that works fine. A box lasted just over a month of daily dishwashing, I guess about 30-33 loads. Also, this detergent gets the best score, an "A" from the Environmental Working Group in their 2012 Guide to Healthy Cleaning. January 31, 2013

Gets TOO HARD to use! The product cleans the dishes good. The powder forms rock hard clods, which I have to break up with pliars before using to fill the detergent compartment of the dishwasher. October 11, 2012

Love it! I always heard the vege based dish soaps weren't very good. Not so, with this product, it cleans and best of all no fragrance. Can't beat the price. July 25, 2012

Buy the liquid! I love Seventh Generation, but this stuff totally clogged up our kitchen drain pipe. We had to dig it up and found it full of undissolved white powder. We haven't had any problems since switching to the liquid, which is great. It's definitely worth the extra dollar or two. November 9, 2009

Seventh Generation Automatic Dishwashing Detergent Free & Clear Directions

For Best Results: Load dishes with soiled surfaces facing spray (do not block spray to top rack). Fill dispenser cups completely for hard water or heavily soiled loads. Use less for soft water or light loads. A rinse aid is recommended for very hard water. Seperate silver, aluminum, and stainless steel to avoid damage. Follow china manyfacturer's instructions to make sure items are dishwasher safe. Washing full loads conserves water.

Ingredients: Water softeners (sodium carbonate, citric acid), cleaning and water spot prevention agents (coconut based surfactant, non-toxic polymers), china and dishwasher protection agent (sodium silicate), processing and flow aids (sodium chloride [a natural salt], sodium sulfate), and multiple soil/stain removers (sodium perborate, non-animal derived enzymes).

Warnings

In case of eye contact, flush with water for at least 15 minutes. If swallowed, drink a glassful of water. Contact a physician.
