To Cook: Sort and soak 1 cup rice in wter a few minutes. Pour off any debris that has floated to top and rinse. Add to 3 cups boiling water. cover and simmer until desired tenderness, about 45 minutes. Do not overcook, it will be starchy. Serving Suggestions: Apples and nuts are a favorite addition. Steamed vegetables with a good oil and fresh herbs are delightful with wild rice.
