Pea Protein Power™ is a natural vegetable protein made from yellow peas (Pisum sativum). didn't like at first I have been experimenting with different protein powders since switching to a mostly plant based diet almost 2 years ago. Whey and egg white are out, obviously. I have only used non-flavored powders as I like the versatility of adding my own flavor. I like soy the best, but am wary of soy isolate due to what I have read. Long story short, I like this product; but only mixed with 8 oz. of OJ. With other juices/liquids the pea taste was too prominent for me. July 23, 2014

Pea rules I want to avoid any protein powders with any kind of rice, soy, dairy or gluten... that is kind of tough! So I like pea sources... This works. Taste is good. I add it to cereal and smoothies. It stirs without a blender if need be... As a protein it supposedly works better when you also get grain protein in a day... Thinking of trying pumpkin seed protein powder next. But if you're looking for pea, this product is worth a try. June 18, 2014
Measurements This may possibly may seem a little picky, however, as health and fitness advocates, we like to follow a strict regimen, including accurate diet portions. Source Naturals' Pea Protein Power leaves a wide variable with its general serving suggestion of 2 "heaping" tablespoons. While we've found this product to be excellent (taste, noticeable benefits -- greater stamina, etc), the most common complaints are more accurate measurement (serving sizes). One reviewer posed the question "big heap or little heap" (funny but descriptive!). Ergo, a Source Naturals' researcher responded to our inquiry about more accurate serving sizes with the following: (by "heaping tablespoons") we mean instead of leveling (scraping off the little mound of substance) the tablespoon you leave a little mound of it on top. Two heaping tablespoons will be approximately 18 grams plus or minus 1. Very helpful feedback especially "+/- 1 gram" vs. just 2 heaping tbsps. However, the standard unit of measure is 1 tbsp = 15 grams, which is the measurement used by most high quality protein powders. PERFECT PROTEIN POWDER I am allergic to soy, eggs, and whey, so protein powders were pretty much off the list for me, until pea protein powder came on the market! This is a great brand, solvent free, and contains no flavor which I prefer. I add my own vanilla extract and stevia to smoothies to offset the neutral taste of the protein powder. YUM! June 2, 2014
