Bitter
I love green tea, and have appreciated the best I can find, including some in pearl form purchased directly from an extraordinary shoppe in Shanghai. The inherent sweetness of a good cup of green is unparalleled, and such a cup can be brewed more than once on the same leaves without becoming bitter.
I tried brewing this loose leaf tea three ways and finally gave up. Full of little twigs, bitter.
1st brew: large mug, 2Tbsp tea leaves, water just under boiling, about 5 minutes, (kind of forgot it for a few minutes)--so bitter, I had to spit it out.
2nd brew: One tsp tea leaves, large mug, water just under boiling, carefully timed for exactly two minutes, since it is difficult to overbrew a green tea to the point of bitter at only two minutes--not quite as bitter as my first brew; tastes a little like a mild black tea, the kind that comes wrapped in paper.
3rd brew: Carefully picked out as many twigs as I could find from 2 tsp or so of leaves (in case twigs contributed to the bitterness), double large mug, water just under boiling, timed for exactly two minutes--not too bad, drinkable, still has hints of bitterness, tastes more like black tea than green.
I decided it just wasn't worth it, so I sent it back to Vitacost.

Tastes great!
This is the first time I have purchased bulk tea. I am very pleased. I was having gas issues with the regular green tea bags bought at the supermarket. Must be the processing because I am happy to state that that is no longer a problem!

excellent green tea!
I've been making a blend of this tea and hibiscus and have been drinking it iced. Beautiful color, wonderful taste. No more tea bags!

Delicious!
My sister and I decided to try this as we're quite keen on green tea, and this my favourite so far! Very smooth, and it's a great way to start the day.

fresh, delicious looseleaf green tea
This loose leaf green tea is the best! This is even better than the looseleaf green tea that I sometimes buy at the local Asian market. I highly recommend Starwest Bontanical's organic teas.
