SunFood Organic Raw Cacao Nibs -- 8 oz
Too many shells.
I have never had so many hard shells in cacao nibs before. I first noticed an unpleasant extra crunch when I first ate them. And it did not have the smooth, rich, deep chocolate flavor I am used to. It was like eating dirt and sand. I inspected the bag and I noticed all the shells and it was such a hassle to have to pick through it every time I used them. I just like to scoop them out to use quickly in a recipe or as a topping, not sit around picking and sorting. I ended up just throwing them out. Guess I got a bad bag since no one else mentions all the shells.

I have better luck with this brand when I mix it into other things--opposed to just enjoying them alone. The nibs themselves aren't as rich as some brands I have tried. These are great in banana milkshakes!!

I love the taste, crunch, and it satisfies
I never tried the nibs before - only the powder, I love it. I mix it with nuts, take a handful as a snack. It's great for a cocao craving :) It is bitter and very crunchy, but very satisfying.

Yummy rich and chocolatey
I tried whole organic cocoa beans before--different brand (Navitas) and they didn't taste very rich or very chocolatey. These nibs really do. I love them. (I don't know if the difference is nibs over beans or the brand but these are great so I'm sticking with them :)) Per another review I sprinkle them on my oatmeal. I also grind them up in smoothies, and sometime I slightly melt a little coconut oil, put in some goji berries, a little shredded coconut, some raw organic honey, and a good sprinkle of these. I set it in the fridge to set.... unless I just can't wait and I eat it warm. Or I've taken that same mixture and mixed it up in organic unsweetened greek yogurt. YUM. I've also made hot cocoa with them by blending them up. Today I blended them with cultured coconut milk--and again YUM. I am working on acquiring a taste for less sugar, but you can make them sweet with honey or agave it you like.
