Great coverage for me
I avoid chemicals whenever I can. After scanning the ingredients in this henna hair color, I felt safe to try it out. My hair is almost white, but the coverage is great and it has lasted a long time. The fading is natural and it doesn't go orange.

Love this product
I love this product. The color is really natural with reddish highlights for my dark brown hair. I get tons of compliments on my color. A big plus it does not dry out or damage my hair.

Hard to find hair dye that is non-toxic
I feel safe using this and really like that I can save any unused dye for the next touch-up. Good price and quality.

Wonderful product
I love Surya Henna, but even though I have dark brown hair, find the chocolate goes on a little too dark for me (I prefer Light Brown). It does lighten up to my natural color fairly quickly however, maybe in a week or two depending on how much I wash my hair.

So much better than regular henna
Years ago, I used regular henna for 10 years -- the kind with the green powder you mix into a paste and apply like mud. So messy! This is a million times easier to apply. It's still messy, but not as bad as regular henna. I also appreciate that I can get two or three applications out of one bottle. It smells nice and clean-up is pretty easy -- I suggest using a dark washcloth and towel.
It's definitely not a permanent color, but with some effort, it can be fairly long-lasting. The first time I applied it, following directions, it faded completely within about two weeks. The second time, I called on my old bag of tricks -- I let the color sit for close to three hours instead of 45 minutes; I used a hair dryer to apply heat sporadically, then wrapped my head in a towel to hold the heat in; I rinsed the dye out with no shampoo, only a vinegar rinse and then conditioner to lock in the color. It still came off slowly in the shower and on my towel during subsequent washings, but that stopped after about a week and then the color stayed for several weeks, maybe even longer on my grays. I prefer the gradual fade and natural color of henna over traditional dyes. (Not to mention it's healthier.)
I have light brown hair with some grays; the Surya chocolate color gave me a rich, natural dark brown overall with a lighter, golden brown on my grays. I like it.
