Discover Yerba Mate! A treasure from South America now comes home to you. Yerba Mate gently sustains you throughout the day, combating fatigue and sleepiness. Its stimulating properties long lasting and found by most to be free from the unpleasant side effects often associated with coffee and other teas.

Yerba Mate is more than just an invigorating brew. It is one of nature's best sources of antioxidants. In addition, a full complement of vitamins and minerals (including chlorophyll, vitamins A, B, C, E, magnesium, potassium, iron, pantothenic acid, and much more) help make a cup of Mate tea an excellent immune-boosting tonic.

Our unique fresh, green style is neither smoked nor aged in order to preserve the bright green flavor and vital nutrients. We use 100% certified organic Mate, responsibly grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers. The Mate Factor is founded on providing a fair wage to the local people in South America who produce our special Mate.

Health Tip: A cheerful heart is good medicine.

Directions

Preparation Hints:

Traditionally: Yerba Mate is enjoyed in a carved gourd with a bombilla (a filtered straw) but this special cut is suitable for just about any use. Try these:

Coffee Machine:

Put 1/4 cup of herb into the filter (adjust to your desired strength). Run the coffee machine's cycle as normal. For a smoother taste, wet herb with cold water before running cycle.

Tea Pot or Tea Ball:

Use between 1 tsp to 1 tbsp per cup, and let steep to desired strength.

French Press:

In an 8 cup press, use about 1/3 cup herb (adjust to your desired strength). In 3-4 cup presses, use 3-4 tbsp. Pre-moisten with cold water before adding hot water to the press. Allow to steep for 5 minutes.

Cold Steeped:

For iced tea, add 1/4 cup per quart to a pitcher or jar. Add cold water and let steep overnight, (in refrigerator or cool spot) for a least 4 hours. Sweeten and add lemon or lime. If you are in a hurry, put tea bags in your water bottle, shake, let sit for five minutes and enjoy.

Also Try...

Iced Mate mixed with your favorite juice concentrate

Adding Lime and Honey to hot or cold mate

Hot mate with milk and honey

Using mate as a base for other herbal teas

Great stuff I love mate. It reminds me of grass or something so earthy and basic. I've only had a few kinds of mate, but this is a good one. I add a little sweetener and it tastes like sweet grass! June 14, 2013
Best Tasting Y Mate As they say, you get what you paid for and though this brand is more pricer than others, the taste makes up for it. Yerba mate teas don't usually taste that great to me - sometimes I add honey or molasses and almond milk and cinnamon to make it more appetizing. But this brand, I can drink straight. Pleasant taste without having a funky aftertaste. Mate Factor holds its own with Guayaki and Eco Teas; it is worth the money. December 23, 2012
top of the line best yet that i ve tried. May 15, 2012
Superb quality and taste Some of the best Mate I've ever had, great aste and strong, only use a little and re-use it for multiple steeps. Enjoy! April 1, 2011
