Twinings Origins Tea Lapsang Souchong Description

  • Fine black tea from China's Fujian Province and Taiwan expertly blended to deliver a strong and distinctive tea with a smoky taste & aroma.
  • Strong Tea Strength
  • 20 Individually Wrapped Tea Bags

Lapsang Souchong tea comes from China's Fujian Province and Taiwan. The unique flavour of Lapsang Souchong is produced by laying the leaves out on bamboo trays and allowing smoke from pinewood to permeate through them. Twinings Lapsang Souchong has a distinctive smoky taste and a dark rich colour.

For over 300 years, Twinings has been sourcing and blending the finest, high-quality teas from around the globe to ensure that your tea has the perfect balance of tea taste, flavor and aroma. Twinings blends to perfection the finest teas from the world's best tea growing regions to give you a line of distinctive teas with a fresh taste and invigorating aroma.

In 1706 Thomas Twining began selling fine tea from an English storefront in The Strand, London. Today, Twinings still sells some of the world’s best teas from the original store and in more than 100 countries throughout the world.

Tasty This tea is best when it's hot. I allowed it to cool and the flavor wasn't there. Overall, it's between a delicate and medium black tea. May 25, 2015
My Favorite Lapsang Souchong I fell in love with Lapsang Souchong when I lived near a traditional Chinese tea store. It has since closed and it's been nigh impossible to find a replacement. Out of all the bagged teas in the Russian Caravan/Lapsang Souchong spectra, this one is my favorite brand. It has a rich, deep smoke flavor without acrid or tar notes. There's a subtle sweetness that I love. Try it. It's worth it. And if it's not your "cup of tea," then cook with it. Use it in a brine for poultry, briefly soak in vodka to make an interesting twist on a Bloody Mary, or grind it finely in a BBQ rub. May 8, 2015
