Padding works!
The strap material itself is on the thick side, and rough, I think the roughness improves the friction on bars. Padding definitely helps to cushion my poor wrists, but I would have preferred perhaps 50% more padding. Otherwise I find it very good value for money.

Great pair of Straps
I own two pair and they work great. One one pair I actually took into a Tailor and they removed the padding and embroidered my name in them and added the pad back on. People steel your stuff here in when your deployed.
