Village Harvest Organic Brown Basmati Rice Directions
1 cup Village Harvest Basmati Rice
2½ cups water
1 tbsp oil
¼ tsp salt (optional)
On the Stove
Rinse rice in cold water to remove excess starch. Combine rice, water, oil and salt in a heavy saucepan. Allow mixture to rest for 15 minutes. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low setting, cover with tight fitting lid and simmer for 35 minutes. Remove from heat. Fluff with fork and serve.
In the Microwave
Rinse rice in cold water to remove excess starch. Combine, rice, 2½ cups water, oil and salt in a microwaveable bowl. Allow mixture to rest for 15 minutes. Microwave at "medium" setting for 35 minutes, remove cover and stir. Cover and microwave at "defrost" setting for an additional 10 minutes. Fluff with fork and serve.
