Vitacost Black Chia Seeds with Omega-3 and Fiber -15 grams per serving -- 16 oz (454 g)
Why Pay More?
You can spend more money on "premium" brands of chia seeds, by why? These from Vitacost are just fine. When you open the tub, you see a mix of black and white, mostly black chia seeds. It even comes with a handy little scoop.
I use chia seeds in pancakes, even hubby likes them! I add to cereal, too. Chia seeds are a super food. Try these out.
Normally I like to buy organic when I'm buying something for health reasons, but I don't feel like it's absolutely necessary for these.

not the same anymore
Earlier this year I received jet-black chia seeds that swelled like caviar and almost immediately in water. I waited specially for the Vitacost brand to be back in stock and ordered again. Alas, this time the chia seeds are like any other brand i.e. a mix of grayish with whitish that develop a gentle slime after quite a bit of soaking ...

Good value, good product
I've always found Vitacost brands to be a good value and a quality product. My brother got me into superfoods last year and gave me a list with brand names to use which were all quite expensive. When he visits, he's surprised by the quality of what I use and the prices I pay at Vitacost. Win, win.
The only thing I don't like about this product is the container. For some reason, it's "static-y". Reminds me of how Styrofoam pellets stick to boxes. Not a big whoop. I just put the seeds in a glass jar and use the container for something else. Again, win, win.

I love these things, and they are as good (if not better) than the more expensive ones.
