R-Lipoic Acid is Economically Wiser I can easily tell which days I take it and the days that I don't. It is very economical because it boots the staying power of CQ10 and other antioxidants I would be trowing money down the drain if I didn't take in combination. I feel and believe R Lipoic to be vastly superior to the usual Lipoic acid, R-Lipoic Acid is far more natural and assumable and the 300 mg is the minimum for me, as I have nerve damage. I feel the liquid R- Lipoic Acid is even better, but it cost tons more so this product is the best value by leaps and bounds. May 28, 2007

What is R-Alpha lipoic acid?

R-Alpha lipoic acid (RLA) is the naturally occurring form of lipoic acid, a nutrient present in every cell of the body, essential to chemical reactions that allow the body to produce energy.* The body produces very little alpha lipoic acid and it is difficult to obtain sufficient quantities through diet alone.

Lipoic acid has been called “a universal antioxidant” because it’s effective as an antioxidant in water-based environments, such as blood, yet its reduced metabolite, dihydrolipoic acid (DHLA), is also effective in protecting fatty tissues and membranes.*
