Vitacost Whey Protein Complex Powder with BCAAs Chocolate -- 2 lb
Not a lot of "garbage"
As a fan of natural protein supplements, I was a solid user of Optimum Nutrition (ON) Natural protein powders. As we all know, cost of protein powders have slowly been creeping up. My "addiction" to this product came to a halt when I discovered Vitacost. I spent countless days browsing through this site in search of the best option for me. My criteria was ingredients, taste, and definitely cost.
I searched many brands for the nutrition facts, list of ingredients and what other customers' opinions were in their reviews. Vitacost protein complex won me over. There are less then 10 ingredients, high protein, mixes very well (shake and ready to drink), not too sweet (uses stevia/xylitol instead of sucralose/aspartame). The taste is smooth. But for a more creamier blend, I mix 1/2 water/ 1/2 almond milk. And it is the best mid-morn snack for me.
For an even better value, the BOGO specials are completely, hands down, a no-brainer for me. Great quality, at an incredible value. For this "best product, for the best deal" Chic, this protein is now my new "addiction".
Way to go Vitacost!!!!!!!

This protien powder tastes.... ok. It's bland if not a bit gross on its own. See, normally with protien powders I try to find one I can use BY ITSELF. This means, mix it with water or Almond milk and it will be tolerable if not (ideally) TASTY. I also like to put JUST a scoop of protein powder with my oatmeal, OR I'll mix water with two scoops to make a bit of a butter and drizzle it on something, spread it on a rice cake, mix it with my peanut butter, or use it as a fruit dip.... THIS protein powder doesn't work like that.
I can't eat it by itself.
I CAN use it though, so I'll finish what I have. What I do now, is take one scoop of this (half serving) and half serving of my Spirutien (LOVE THAT TASTE AND NUTRITION) and BOTH proteins will last longer, at the SAME time I get the bonus of both different kinds of protein! (Spirutein is Soy[digests slower], this is Whey[digests quicker]) This makes it last, and this product (unlike most) is NOT cram full of undefinable weird ingredients, high fructose corn syrup and (to be blunt) junk, SO that is AWESOME, but if you're looking for an EXCELLENT tasting protein to make a shake taste good, or NOT mix with something... this isn't going to fly (not for chocolate lovers anyway, and I don't even have a strong sweet tooth)

Great post workout shake
I have been using this for maybe a week and I really like it. The chocolate flavor is mild but satisfying. There are no artificial ingredients or flavors. The sweetness is mild as well, it is sweetened with stevia and xylitol. It will have a stevia after taste which is common for stevia. This mixes great in a shaker cup, there's never any lumps or clumps. I like adding extra cocoa powder sometimes and vanilla extract. Overall this shake fills me up after my workout, taste great, there's no chalky or gritty taste. I would recommend to anyone who wants a good tasting protein shake without artificial ingredients.

Good product with some reservations
Protein and other ingredients quite good and the value is too. Alone it isn't very chocolatey and is too sweet for my taste. I mix it with cocoa powder and unflavored soy protein to cut down on the sweetness, bring out more chocolate, and to thicken it up a bit.

It has a fair taste but works well. Best enjoyed in smoothies.
