My favorite flaxseed
Vitacost flaxseed is equal to or better than other higher-priced brands that I have tried. It's always fresh. I have bought it multiple times and recommended it to others.

Great for baking
This flaxseed is great for baking brownies and creating a low carb/GF oats! It is milled fine and has a great taste!

Great egg substitute in baking
This was an excellent product to add in smoothies, yogurt and granola. The most exciting discovery for me was to utilize it in baking as an egg alternative. You can add into baking products, but I found that completely substituting this product when a recipe called for egg was a great alternative, especially since I have high cholesterol. I would substitute 1 Tbl flaxseed plus 3 Tbl water for one egg. Mix the two ingredients separately and allow flax to "dissolve," then mix into your favorite baking recipe. One recipe even called for 2 eggs, so I dbled the above flax to water ratio, and it turned out great. I used in multiple baking items: pancakes, muffins and bread. My family never tasted the difference. Great for vegans!
