Fall-Inspired Chai Tea Latte

As the days get shorter and the evenings get cooler, your cravings start to change. Satisfy your yearning for a hot cup of comfort with this dairy-free chai tea latte, infused with sweet, warming five spice powder and the complex flavors of cardamom. Top it with a dollop of fluffy coconut-based whipped cream and a dash of spice for something really nice.

Ingredients

1 cup water
2 tsp. Vitacost Organic Loose Black Tea
1/2 tsp. Simply Organic Five Spice Powder
1/8 tsp. Simply Organic Cardamom
1/8 tsp. Simply Organic Ceylon Cinnamon
1 cup almond milk
1 Tbsp. sugar
Softly whipped cream (optional)

Directions

  1. In pot over medium-high heat, bring water, loose leaf tea, five spice powder, cardamom and cinnamon to a gentle simmer. Add milk and heat through.
  2. Remove pot from heat and let steep for 5 minutes. Pour tea thorough a fine mesh strainer into a cup.
  3. Add sugar and top with softly whipped cream and a sprinkle of five spice, if desired.
