Microwave Method:
Squeeze the pouch to separate the grains. Tear open the top of the pouch completely, add 1/3 cup of water and microwave for 90 seconds at 75% power. Let stand for 30 seconds after heating. Pour contents onto a plate and gently fluff up with a fork. Serve immediately.
Pouch and contents will be hot after heating. Do not use the pouch if it is leaking and bloated.

Savory Bacon & Winter Veggie Risotto
A perfect side for the cold-weather season, this tasty risotto is loaded with good-for-you herbs, greens and sundried tomatoes. The recipe calls for seasonal veggies mixed with delicious risotto and savory bacon to create a comforting dish everyone will love.
Savory Bacon & Winter Veggie Risotto
- 6 cups chicken broth (divided)
- 1 package bacon
- ½ cup sundried tomatoes (diced)
- 1 small onion (diced)
- 1 leek (diced (use white and light green color only))
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1¼ cup risotto
- 2 cups fresh spinach
- ½ cup cream
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1.5 tsp. white pepper
- ½ cup gouda
- 1/3 cup parsley (chopped)
- In large saucepan over medium heat, heat chicken broth until it reaches a slow simmer, then reduce heat to low. Stir occasionally.
- In large skillet, cook bacon until crispy then set aside on paper towels.
- In skillet with bacon grease, add sundried tomatoes, onion and leek. Cook for 10 minutes, or until veggies soften.
- Add garlic and risotto, continually stirring, for about 3-5 minutes.
- Add 1 cup chicken broth to the risotto, cook on medium heat or until mixture reaches a slow simmer, and stir until liquid is absorbed. Repeat this step until all chicken broth is used.
- Stir in spinach, cream, butter, salt and pepper. Once spinach wilts, spoon risotto into large baking dish.
- Sprinkle with gouda cheese and parsley.
- Bake in an oven for 5-8 minutes at 350 degrees F or until cheese is melted. Serve immediately.
