Essential Oil Deodorizing Disks

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line each cavity of baking dish with cupcake liner or parchment paper.
  2. In medium sized bowl, mix baking soda and water into very thick paste.
  3. Spoon mixture into evenly into each cavity. Press with back of spoon to smooth top.
  4. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until dry and firm.
  5. Allow disks to cool for 5 minutes, then add 1-2 drops of essential oil on each.
  6. Sprinkle with pet-safe dried flowers, if desired.
  7. Once completely cooled, put disk on plate and place near your cat’s litter box or anywhere near where odors lurk.

IMPORTANT

  • If you wish to use a different essential oil, first research to ensure it is pet-friendly.
  • Essential oils are highly concentrated, so you don’t want to add too much. If the scent is too strong, your pet may avoid that area.
  • Ensure the disks are placed where your pet can’t get to them.

Usage & Storage

Depending of the size and thickness, each disk should last 2-4 weeks. After its scent as faded, remove any dried flowers and crumble the disk into your washing machine with your next load of laundry. (Baking soda is great for removing odors in laundry.) Or simply throw it away.

Store disks in an airtight container.
