Is Rice Water the Secret to Healthy Hair?
Ingredients
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup rice brown rice appears to contain more inositol
Instructions
Method without boiling water
  1. Rinse rice with cold water to remove dirt and other impurities.
  2. In large bowl, pour in rice with water and let sit for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Strain water into an air-tight container and leave uncovered at room temperature for 12 to 24 hours to ferment.
  4. Seal air-tight container and refrigerate.
  5. When ready to use, use funnel to pour a small amount into spray bottle.
Method with boiling water

  2. In pot, boil water and pour onto rice. Let simmer while stirring until water becomes cloudy. Set aside until cool,

  5. When ready to use, use funnel to pour a small amount into spray bottle.
How to use rice water rinse
  1. Spray or pour a generous amount of rice water onto your head and work through hair, from root to tips. Let sit for 3 to 5 minutes (depending on hair type; leave on longer for thicker hair, and shorter for fine hair).
  2. Rinse with regular water. The, use a deep conditioner or apply a leave-in conditioner.
