How does NSI® 5-LOXIN® 150 mg work?
This new, patent-pending dietary supplement inhibits an enzyme called 5-lipoxygenase. 5-LOX inhibitors do not produce the same potentially negative effects associated with COX-2 inhibitors. 5-LOXIN® is a selective inhibitor. Its actions are very targeted and do not effect other systems.
5-LOXIN® is a standardized extract of boswellia serrata, providing 30% acetyl-11-keto-beta boswellic acid (AKBA). AKBA has been identified as the most potent of all boswellic acids. And while other extracts contain 2 to 3% AKBA, the patented process for creating 5-LOXIN® results in a standardized 30% AKBA extract, the highest concentration available.
5-LOXIN® protects joint cartilage and tissues by inhibiting production of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) – enzymes that selectively destroy peptide bonds and structural proteins. 5-LOXIN® helps inhibit collagen degradation, supporting bone and joint health.
