The acai berry (pronounced ah-sigh-ee) is found in the Brazilian rain forest. It has been used for thousands of years to enhance overall health, energy and vitality.
The acai is rich in B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, calcium, iron, phosphorus and potassium. It is also a great source of amino acids and essential fatty acids.
Acai berries are abundant in flavonoid compounds known as anthocyanins. Anthocyanins are natural pigments responsible for the acai’s deep purple coloring and contain powerful antioxidant properties which help protect cells from free radical damage.
