Annie’s Homegrown 20th birthday is a good time for reflection, and what comes to my mind at this time is the loyalty of Annie’s consumers over the past two decades. With their suggestions and support, they have introduced dozens of new products. From the earliest purple box mac and cheese through side dishes, snack crackers, cereals, and fruit snacks, feedback from our fans has helped shape both our recipes and our final decisions.
That brings us to a new product, Annie’s Lower Sodium Macaroni & Cheese. Many of you have contacted Annie's to ask for lower sodium macaroni and cheese product. With increasing numbers of people diagnosed with hypertension and heart conditions, we agree with our consumers that offering a lower sodium product is the right thing to do. The challenge has been to create a heart-healthier recipe that actually tastes good.
Annie's thinks they have met the challenge! Mad with certified organic elbow pasta and creamy, mild cheddar cheese. Annie’s Lower Sodium Macaroni & Cheese will provide a real comfort food experience – delicious taste with the added comfort of knowing that this meal is lower in sodium. We believe we have successfully combined the adjectives heart-healthy and tasty in one recipe.
BE GREEN, Help the Earth Live is a campaign we started in 1989. It’s not about any particular organization or corporation or trying to get anyone elected. BE GREEN simply lets people know that you’re an Earth advocate, and that you care about what happens to our wondrous, blue and green planet.
As the stewards of our fragile planet, we humans need to unite and speak out on behalf of all Earth’s inhabitants – from plankton to polar bears to whales to redwoods. We are all interconnected. We all share the same home. Displaying a BE GREEN sticker gives you this voice.
BE GREENs are everywhere, and we’re encouraged by and proud of this growing phenomenon. The more BE GREENs out there, the louder our voice. Help the Earth to live. Help to make a change. Let’s keep this ripple going.
