The ingredients in this product have changed Please note that Aubrey Organics is now just Aubrey, no organic anymore. The ingredients in their products have also changed. This product & other moisturizers now contain alcohol which is not something I would put on my already dry hair or skin. The cetyl alcohol in this product is not too bad as alcohol goes but the Honey Suckle Rose also has denatured alcohol which is really bad. I don't know what happened they used to be a good company. Vitacost has not changed their website yet to reflect the changes. Go to Aubrey's website to get the actual ingredients before ordering any of their products. February 9, 2013
Unparalleled This is not only the most effective Aubrey Organics conditioner I have ever used, it is the most effective conditioner of any type--natural, synthetic, or mixed--I've ever experienced. I believe this has a lot to do with the high jojoba oil content; after using this oil alone as a deep conditioner, I feel there's something particularly potent about it. However, when I've seen it used in other conditioners, it always seems to come lower on their ingredient lists, and these products have not exhibited particularly positive effects for me. I have extremely thick, curly/wavy hair that goes blisteringly haystack-dry and Dr.-Who-style-frizzy at the slightest shift in my state of health. (It's not just environmental conditions that can make hair go dry! I think this should be much better publicized.) The least bit of stress, sickness, detoxing, or just getting out of endocrine balance for any reason finds my hair all of a sudden virtually impervious to the positive effects of any conditioner--even other Aubrey ones. Bot not Jojoba and Aloe! Even in the worst of times, it is able to make at least some improvement--and most times, the effect is significant. In my best health states, moreover, it takes my hair from great to superb! This conditioner somehow just seems to cut through all the madness--whatever barricades my health seems to be creating in my hair (lack of absorptiveness?)--and soothes it into slippery smoothness, shininess, and suppleness. It defines my hair, at least into manageability, and in better times, into perfectly formed, luxurious curls and waves--like a presto-change-o act. I've never used an Aubrey product whose fragrance I did not wish I could buy in the form of an essential oil, and this one is no exception--the scent is subtle, complex, and uplifting. Of course, it is ALL natural and organic and made to the highest standards, as indeed are all products of this brand--and that means the world to me from health and enjoyability standpoints. In fact, this conditioner is so special that even though it's not available on the shelves of any of my local health stores anymore (CRAZY!), I'm about to order some online--an approach I really try to avoid whenever possible. There was black stuff inside the bottle of conditioner most likely mold and it had a smell. I will throw it away because returning it would be costly.I will not take a chance ordering that again, my budget can't handle it. December 26, 2012
Greasy Hair Does not rinse out October 17, 2012
Made my hair feel brittle I bought this because of the great reviews. Maybe AO has changed the formula lately because this is one of the worst conditioners I've ever used. It DOES "defrizz", but it does so at the expense of the vitality of my hair. After using this product just a few times, my hair feels significantly drier and more brittle. I have long, thick, somewhat dry hair, so if you have a similar hair type I'd advise you to keep looking. October 8, 2012
