Bob's Red Mill TVP® Texturized Vegetable Protein -- 10 oz
The best TVP
As a vegan, I've had my fair share of protein substitutes. This is by far the best and the only one that I would recommend. Great taste, texture and flavor...boom!

I'm vegetarian and gluten free. I can use this in place of hamburger and it's made of soy, so it's gluten free. Some of the tvp you find is made from wheat gluten.

TVP is a complete protein. It's easy to prepare and it's quite filling. I'll throw 1/4 cup in my beans. If there's enuf water in the beans you just have to wait a minute or so and the TVP is tender enuf to eat.
I've even added it dry to a bowl of cereal. As a 60 year old male I am however eating less soy. But once a week I'll indulge.

I love TVP
This product is fabulous!! Use it for making veggie burgers and so much more. it takes on the flavor you add to it!! There is not flavor or taste to this until you season it!

Great stuff - don't be scared, try it...it's good!
At first I was very leary of this stuff...after going veg my sister gave me some and it sat in my fridge for months before I finally tossed it. I wasn't convinced of the whole "it takes on any flavor" thing (just like tofu), this took me a minute to get used to...BUT THEN, after spending tons of money on the store bought frozen "crumbles", my brain FINALLY realized this was the SAME STUFF (but cheaper - yaaay!) and why was I buying it frozen this whole time when I could be making it fresh whenever I needed it...and good thing too, it seems most of the stores I shop at no longer carry my frozen brand (boca) crumbles any more, just morningstar and they're not vegan (boooo!). Long story short, I make this with my no-beef (vegan) broth and then make it into tacos...love it! Don't be scared, it's not bad all all. I stock up on this stuff now, it's a vegan staple in my house!
