Desert Essence Facial Scrub Gentle Stimulating -- 4 fl oz
I used to love this product
I have oily skin, and Desert Essence's Gentle Stimulating Facial Scrub used to make my skin look and feel incredible. It sloughed off dead skin cells and city grime seemingly effortlessly and left my skin clean, soft and glowing. Bonus: It also has a high safety rating in EWG's Skin Deep Database. I loved it so much, I would buy it in bulk. But something happened to the formula between the last time and the most recent time I ordered. The consistency is so moist and creamy now, I can barely feel the scrubbing granules. And it leaves a filmy residue on my face that's frustrating to rinse off. Even after a thorough rinsing, if I itch my face, scrub residue will collect under my fingernails. I was so convinced that I had a bad batch after opening the first container from my recent order that I opened the others to see their consistency. They were all the same. I can't use this on my face anymore; I'll just have to use it on my body, I guess. One thing is for sure: I'll never buy this product again, and I feel really let down by Desert Essence. They tinkered with an already-amazing product and ruined it.

This scrub is definitely a great purchase. Exfoliates devinely. Only one thing that bothered me was that it felt a little oily but when I rinsed my face it felt smooth and hydrated. I am definitely making this a regular part of my routine.

Used to be great!
This face scrub was a great product until now. They have evidently added a lot of water to it (first ingredient so they could do that without changing the ingredient list). Now you have to completely dry your skin before using it or you won't get any scrubbing action. Don't even think about using it in the shower. It was very thick and dense before, now it is sloppy wet.

Not enough scrubbing power. I still had flaky dry spots on my skin even using this twice a day. It is so thick that it pulls on my skin when it first goes on.

Not Enough Scrubbing Power
Once per day is enough for most scrubs, and I have tried many. Even using this 2 times per day I have flaky spots on my skin. It is thick and pulls on skin when first applied. It has caused me to break out in pimples and there are no enzymes to help with the exfoliation process.
