Desert Essence Gentle Nourishing Day Cream SPF 15 -- 2 oz
A little skeptical
When I first tried this cream I was surprised by how thick it is.
After a few days I found I liked it very much.
Seems to be keeping the age spots at bay.
I also like that it has an fps.

Moisture without grease
This is a great facial moisturizer. I live in a very dry climate, and this leaves my face feeling soft, but not greasy. Of course all moisturizers tend to immediately soak in to your skin here, so I can't say how it would work in a humid place. But it is perfect for the high desert, and it has spf protection which is essential even in the winter here.

Too heavy for summer, better in colder months
Based on many reviews, I purchased this product because I wanted a sulfate and paraben free product, as well as, SPF. First, it is quite thick. Only a small amount on the finger tips can cover the entire face. However, after five minutes of wearing it, my face would break out in a sweat. Little sweat beads and I just read another reviewer who claimed the same thing! I've never had a product do that before so I stopped using it this summer after really wanting to like it. It also wasn't good for running because, combined with the sweat, I had some stinging sensation.
I've recently started using it again in the winter months and have not had the same sweating sensation (perhaps just something with too much heat after a shower?). I'm trying to use it up, but know I will not purchase it again. While the scent is nice and the coverage is good, it doesn't seem to work well on my skin.

Loved it until the heat wave hit!
This moisturizer is thick, which is great for 40+ skin. It has a gentle, natural fragrance and truly moisturizes with one application. I needed to let it sink in before applying a foundation, so that's less convenient. My problem with it arrived with the intense 90 degree/90% humidity weather we got a few weeks ago, and I couldn't do anything (inside or out) without it literally melting off my face! It never had time to absorb and would just drip off - made me feel like a major sweat-bucket! Gross. So if you're in a dry, cool climate, go for it. I did love it when I started wearing it in the Spring. For heat and humidity though, no way.

Good, but heavy!
This is a pretty good daily moisturizer, especially since it has a physical sunscreen that doesn't leave a noticeable white cast. Love the ingredients, especially the argan oil. This didn't irritate my sensitive skin at all, and was perfectly hydrating for the dry winter air.
However, it does feel heavy on the skin; you can sort of feel it sitting on your skin when you first put it on. This is fine for the winter, but I wouldn't use it in the summer or any time you're planning on being active; you will suddenly feel your moisturizer on your face!
So: good moisturizer for winter (or extremely dry skin), not recommended for summer or sweaty activity.
