Excellent for laundry
I avoid toxic chemicals in my cleaning products as much as possible, and have searched for years to find something that would keep my whites from turning gray in the wash as I have very hard water. I tried numerous natural products and tried making a few of my own, and nothing worked until I used Ecover non chlorine bleach! Only a small amount is needed in an extra capacity load to keep my whites from turning gray which makes it very economical. As it is color safe I can throw in my exercise clothes too, and it does a wonderful job removing the sweat stains that never used to come out. I am thrilled to have found this product. Vitacost, please don't ever stop selling it!

Great Product!
Ecover is NOT Chlorine bleach--hence the name Ecover, NON-Chlorine Bleach!
Regular bleach like Clorax is the chemical compound sodium hypochlorite. It is an oxidizer/disinfectant but it is very toxic.
Ecover is Hydrogen Peroxide. It also acts as an oxidizer/disinfectant but it is non toxic.
Ecover non-chlorine bleach is a 7-8% solution of hydrogen peroxide so it is stronger than the hydrogen peroxide one would purchase at a drugstore that is usually 3% hydrogen peroxide.(Ecover is not recommended to put in your mouth or use as rinse.)
Of course it is not going to be as strong as the toxic chlorine bleach, but that’s the whole point---it’s not supposed to be---but it is an effective whitener, disinfectant, and bleaching agent.
It is a great product. I put some in a spray bottle for kitchen/bathroom counter tops and surfaces. You can tell when it's working because it will bubble and zizzle. That means it's reacting to bacteria, mold spores, etc. and is killing them. I’ve been using it for years!
