Eden Foods Daikon Radish Pickled with Rice Bran Description

  • Pickled with Rice Bran
  • Kosher

Fine long white daikon radishes, slow sun-drying, and pickling with rice bran and sea salt creates this traditional nuka pickle. Two slices are customarily served at meals end to cleanse the palate and aid digestion. They are popular in nori rolls and sushi as well.

A tasty kick of spice Great for "chewy" food lovers that enjoy Asian spicing-up. February 1, 2015
Love Pickled Daikon, Hated this one from Eden I lived in Japan for over 10 years, ate Macrobiotic for a years and generally love Eden Foods as a good (albeit expensive) brand. When I saw that Vitacost had the pickled radish, I ordered it right away. It is so salty and briny that we cold barely swallow it. I took it to the sink and washed it (something I'd never do with pickled Daikon) and still it was far too salty. And I love salt. I definitely eat too much of it, but I love it. This is just off-the-charts awful and we had to throw it out. I even asked Vitacost for a refund. Eden is a good brand for the most part and I hope they'll sort this out. I love all kinds of salty Japanese food (even the sour/salty umeboshi plum) but this was just awful. Sorry to leave such a harsh review for this one food when most of their stuff is worth the extra money, but hopefully they'll revisit this process and see what they can do. December 13, 2013
