Madhava Organic Coconut Sugar -- 1 lb
appears to be a healthier option to other refined sugars. wondering why it is not more well-known. i have not used it for baking, so i cannot comment, but it would be easy to use since it has a 1:1 replacement. so far i have used it to sweeten oatmeal and certain protein drinks that i make. it's also non-GMO. it tastes somewhat like brown sugar, but with a more carmelized flavor. it has a high mineral content, being a rich source of potassium, magnesium, zinc, and iron, and also contains Vitamin B1, B2, B3, and B6. compared to brown sugar, coconut sugar has 18 times the potassium, 30 times the phosphorus and over 10 times the amount of zinc.

i have been using organic sugars for awhile This is a good tasting alternative for baking. I make a gluten free fruit bread with it.
