Madhava Organic Coconut Sugar -- 1 lb
Occasionally I'll find this coconut sugar at my local health food store, but when they actually have it in stock it's always WAY overpriced (not a surprise since we have very little competition in my area for health food shops). It's easily half the price on Vitacost and has replaced most of my other sugars, agaves, etc. in the house. It's very versatile, sustainable, and loaded with micronutrients, vitamins and minerals that aren't found in refined sugars. Love love love!

This may taste good - just purchased before doing research. I will not buy Coconut Sugar again. It is the same name as Coconut Palm sugar which means that the more they remove the Coconut Palms to make Coconut Sugar - it means there will be fewer Coconut trees that will product Coconuts.
Once the Palm is removed, it can no longer produce Coconuts.
That is something that many consumers do not know.
When the sap used to make coconut palm sugar is collected from the coconut palm tree, from the flower bud that will eventually form a coconut, that tree can no longer produce coconuts!
No coconuts = no coconut oil, no dried coconut, no coconut flour.
Is coconut sugar worth giving up these other valued products that come from the coconut??

Tastes like Creme Brulee crust!
When my daughter found out that sugar was causing her acid reflux, she was so disappointed! She tried other sugar substitutes but had the same results, until she tried this! We were impressed by the taste as well as how well it worked in baked goods!!! This is the only sugar we use in baked goods.

I love this stuff!
I love this stuff! I love the caramel taste of it in coffee. It is a perfect substitute in cookies for brown or white sugar. Used in scratch vanilla pudding makes it taste like caramel pudding. Yum! Great sugar substitute in flan! I make my own sweetened condensed milk with xylitol then use coconut sugar for the flan recipe. Works great!

Pleasant taste and much healthier than white sugar. I use it when ever we need sugar for oatmeal or baking.
