Expensive but worth the cost My functional medicine doctor says that this is an outstanding product and recommended that I give it to my children daily. According to him, this protein powder/meal replacement powder for kids packs more nutrition in it than most kids in this country (U.S.) receive from their food in two weeks. Test results revealed that my kids (ages 6 and 3) are low in protein and certain nutrients due to poor digestion caused by gluten consumption. We took out the gluten and most other grains and are working to heal their digestion. In the meantime, this powder added to smoothies has helped ease my concern that they are not getting the nutrients that they need each day. The rice protein and other nutrients are pre-digested so there is no need to have perfect digestion to get the benefits. Also, it has a nice flavor so the kids will eat it even mixed with just plain water (though they prefer it in a smoothie.) This makes it convenient when not at home. Just put a couple of scoops in a baggie or tupperware and when the kids get hungry add to water and stir for a quick meal replacement. Two scoops mixed in water takes care of the hunger for my kids. The convenience and ease of absorption of this product make me wonder if this would be a good product for seniors as they often suffer from poor digestion and aren't capable of preparing meals for themselves thus many are malnourished. I wish I had known about this product when I was caring for my grandmother who at one point was only able to consume junky "nutrition" shakes like Ensure. I plan to always keep a jar or two of this product around as a quick meal solution in a pinch and to make sure my kids are getting the nutrition they need, even after their digestion is working as it should.
