Our original plain couscous is a great way to add that special touch to your meal.  The small granules of Mediterranean-style pasta made from 100% semolina wheat cook to fluffy perfection in 5 minutes and can be easily combined with many spices for a new experience every time.


Range Top: Serving (about 1 cup cooked): 1/3 Cup Couscous, uncooked; 1/2 Cup water, broth or juice; Pinch salt (optional); 1 tsp olive oil or butter.

2 Servings (about 1 cup cooked): 3/4 Cup Couscous, uncooked; 1 Cup water, broth or juice; 1/4 tsp salt (optional); 2 tsp olive oil or butter. About 5 Servings (about 1 cup cooked): 1 Box Couscous, uncooked; 2 Cups water, broth or juice; 1/2 tsp salt (optional); 1 Tbsp olive oil or butter. 1. In medium saucepan, bring water, salt (optional) and olive oil or butter to just a boil. 2. Stir in couscous; cover.

Remove from heat; let stand 5 minutes.

Fluff couscous lightly with fork before serving.

Microwave: 1. In round 2-quart microwaveable glass casserole, combine water and salt (optional).  Microwave at high until boiling, about 2 minutes for 1 serving, 4 to 5 minutes for 2 servings or 9 to 10 minutes for the entire box (Microwave ovens may vary. Adjust times as needed).  Add couscous and olive oil or butter; stir. Cover; let stand 5 minutes. Fluff couscous lightly with fork before serving.

Low Fat Directions: Follow package directions, except omit olive oil or butter. High Altitude Preparation: At high altitudes, prepare entire box as directed above except increase water to 2-3/4 cups.
