I discovered I dislike erythritol.
I had read a recommendation that erythritol was a safe sweetener, so I tried this brand and one other. I really disliked both, so it must be erythritol itself. It doesn't provide much sweetness or flavor, and it has a really nasty aftertaste.
The package recommends that you use 1 and 1/3 times the amount of sugar that you would use, which is barely as sweet. And I'm still trying to get the aftertaste from this morning's cup of tea out of my mouth.
I would not recommend erythritol to anyone.

natural sugar taste
Unlike most low calorie non-sugar sweeteners, this one has a natural sweet taste that doesn't leave an aftertaste. Much better in coffee than, for example, Just Like Sugar.

first time I have tried it
This is the first time I have bought Erythritol by itself. It is usually an ingredient with stevia or other sweeteners. I thought I would try it because Dr. Gregor from Nutrition Facts dot org said it is high in antioxidants and is one of the two sweeteners that he uses. The other is date sugar. It smelled a little funny when I opened the bag but did not have an off taste. I used it and stevia and date sugar to sweeten some cooked fruit. It turned out great and just tasted sweet without any aftertaste.
