The True Strength of Casein

Faster digesting protein is desirable immediately before and after exercise to help refuel recovering muscles, but slow digestion and absorption may be more beneficial at other times - including bedtime when your body typically goes for hours without food. Casein proteins are acid sensitive and thicken in the stomach. Compared to some other proteins, it can take longer for our Gold Standard 100% Casein to be broken down into its amino acid subcomponents. By using only premium micellar casein as a protein source, we've created a formula that sets the standard for slow digesting protein support.

Beyond The Basics

  • Best-Selling Micellar Casein.
  • Nearly 71% Protein by Weight (24G of Protein per 34G Serving)
  • 24 Grams of Slow-Digesting Micellar Casein per Serving.
  • Nearly 5 Grams of Naturally Occurring BCAAs (Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine) per Serving.
  • Nearly 5 Grams of Naturally Occurring Glutamine & Glutamic Acid in Every Scoop.

Using a shaker cup is the easiest and most convenient way to mix up a consistently great casein shake every time. Just add one heaping scoop to your shaker cup and then pour in 10-12 oz of your preferred beverage. Cover and shake for 25-30 seconds. Adjust the intensity by varying the amount of liquid that you use to prepare it. For a bolder flavor with slightly more body and sweetness, mix one heaping scoop with 8-10 oz of water, milk, or your favorite beverage. For a milder tasting, less sweet shake, use 12-14 oz of liquid per scoop.

Blender: Add one heaping scoop to a blender filled with 10-12 oz of water, milk, or your favorite beverage. Blend for 20-30 seconds. Then add 3-4 ice cubes and blend for an additional 30 seconds. By adding a few high-energy ingredients to your shake you can blend up a delicious meal: try adding fresh or frozen fruits (strawberries, bananas, peaches, etc.), peanut butter, flaxseed oil, yogurt, coconut, slivered almonds, or other ingredients. By adding supplements like Micronized Creatine, Glutamine, Taurine, and/or Instantized BCAA powders, you can make an even more powerful recovery product.

Spoon Stirred: If you forgot your shaker cup or don’t have time to get out the blender, you can just add one heaping scoop to a glass filled with 10-12 oz of cold water, milk, or your favorite beverage. Then mix it up with a spoon for about 30 seconds or until powder is dissolved.

For healthy adults, consume enough protein to meet your daily protein requirements with a combination of high protein foods and protein supplments throughout the day as part of a balanced diet and exercise program.

Quality once again ON is great, terrific product. This one is no different. Great taste, great mixing, goes down well. August 5, 2013
Nice Casein, Nice price mixes well with water or milk. tastes decent with water but a lot better with milk (I use 2%). Good texture but not so creamy/smooth. Overall a good choice once you factor in price, servings, and protein per serving. April 1, 2013
best protein I've ever used This stuff is great. Just one scoop to meet the mark and I feel great the next day after hard workouts or runs... recovery is always better. March 11, 2013
O.K taste... Easy to mix (you don't need fancy shaker, just plain glass with spoon) . didn't experiences any digestions side effects. January 14, 2013
Very good product! This is an amazing product! Here are a few answers from most general questions 1. Do I need Casein? Almost everyone can benefit from Casein. However, NOT everyone needs a Casein supplement. I recommend this supplement to only someone who is at intermediate or advance fitness levels. Beginners are better off with Whey only or blend supplements. 2. Is Casein better than Whey? Yes and No. Both Casein and Whey are proteins that are beneficial in different ways. Caesin is not a well rounded and balanced protein, it is a specialized protein. Casein is used for recovery ( high Glutamine and Anti Catabloic properties). Lastly its Biological value is only 77 compared to 104 of Whey. However, it does something no other protein can. Casein is digested very very slow and release rich amount of Glutamine and other Amino acids which helps you recover and stay Anabolic. 3. What is Special about ON Casein? First and foremost, its not exactly the most delicious and consistent protein by nature. Nothing that ON can do to change it, this is the nature of Casein. But, what ON does is that it gives you the best of Casein, the Micellar Casein. Making it the best Casein protein supplement in the market. 4. Why is Casein protein more expensive than Whey? This is a fair question since, out of all the protein in Milk, 80% is Casein and 20% is Whey. This means Casein should be cheaper right? Well not exactly because out of the total Casein available, only limited amount of Casein is Micellar Casein (the ideal casein for the body). The cost of extracting Micellar Casein is way more than Whey. Therefore as a rule of thumb, never go with a brand, in which Casein and Whey are priced at same. As per ground economics, Casein will always be more expensive than Whey. 5. How is the taste and are there clumps? The test is quite good in my opinion. I always go with Chocolate. There are a lot of clumps so use an actual blender and not a shaker/blender bottle. December 4, 2012
