Organic Traditions Cacao Butter Gluten Free -- 16 oz
This is what I keep on hand to make my "crackle" ice cream topper.
Want the recipe??? I made this up, and measuring is not even really needed. Just approximate if that is easier...
1/4 cup cacao butter
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup cacao powder
pinch of pink salt (optional)
1/2 tsp vanilla
Stevia to taste or a tsp of honey (ice cream is sweet enough)
melt all together in small pan over very low heat (just takes a few minutes) and whisk together. pour over ice cream and watch! :)

Yummy taste and great consistency
Love making chocolate with this. Great smell, taste and texture. Wonderful for creamy hot chocolate drinks. Will order again. Already re-ordered and bought 4 more. Wish there was more in the bag though. I used it very quickly, but it's worth it as it is the best I have purchased.

Organic, Raw, Delicious and Moisturizing
This cacao butter is of excellent quality and Vitacost sells it for the best price that I've found. I like to put a small chunk of it in my coffee in the morning as it gives the coffee a wonderful flavor. I melt this and use it in my homemade chocolate. And, I love rubbing this all over my body as a moisturizer. It's the best moisturizer I've ever used. It has a soft, pleasant aroma and it leaves my skin truly moisturized. After sitting in the sun, I rub this cacao butter all over my skin and I find it helps to develop a deep, golden tan on my skin. This is an outstanding multi-purpose product, one that I never want to be without. I highly recommend it.

great for making chocolate
I am on a restricted diet and cannot have sugar, but crave chocolate. I made some out of cocoa, coconut oil, and honey. However, that was nothing compared to making it with this cacao butter. When you open the package it smells like chocolate. The contents are in hunks, like buying bulk chocolate. I have read reviews on various sites for cocoa butter and the quality seemed to vary wildly. I trust this one since it came in chunks, smelled fresh & like chocolate, was in an opaque bag that can be resealed once opened, and because of the great outcome using it.
I chopped/shaved up the butter melted it in a device I have at 110 F. When it was melted I added in an equal amount of good cocoa (used Navitas Raw mostly), and honey and lots of good vanilla extract to taste. I put the mixture, now starting to firm, on parchment to make a 1/4" thick bar, adding roasted almonds to some. Yummy! It is so delicious I ate too much. I am going to try using it in baking as chocolate chips as well. The texture is so much better than the chocolate made with coconut oil as cocoa butter doesn't melt at as low of a temperature, so it gives a better mouthfeel and sturdier product, has a snap/crunch when you store it in the fridge. I also picked up the fine shavings on the cutting board and they easily rub in to your skin.
It's expensive, but might be cheaper than buying an unsweetened bar and adding your safe sweetener, depending on the bar and the cocoa you end up using. I personally like having control over the outcome and can tweak it to my liking. I am buying more of this!
