ORGRAN GLUTEN FREE BREAD CAN BE REFRIGERATED OR FROZEN IN AN AIRTIGHT FREEZER BAG.
• microwave bread to freshen after refrigeration or storage.
• for a fuller bodied loaf add 1 beaten egg (diet permitting) (adjust water accordingly by egg weight).
• for a lighter bread add 50 g/1.7 oz skim milk powder (diet permitting).
• to achieve more browning add 1 teaspoon of sugar.
To 450g ORGRAN Gluten Free Bread Mix, add 425 mL (14.3 fl oz) water, 3 tablespoons *OR 450 mL (15 fl oz) milk in place of water. *(it is very important to add the accurate amount of liquid as any variation of measurements may affect the quality of the loaf.
1/ Place all ingredients into medium brown and mix continually on low to medium speed until batter is smooth (3-4 min).
2/ Immediately spoon mix into an oiled loaf tin, approx 22 cm x 12 cm ( 9x5 inches).
3/ Allow to stand in a warm place approx 15 minutes or until the dough has risen above the top of tin.
4/ Place into preheated oven at 180 C (350 F) for 35-40 minutes.
5/ Remove from tin as soon as possible and cool on cake rack for 20 minutes before slicing.
Bread Making Machine (General Instructions)
As bread making machines vary slightly form each other some practice may be necessary in order to achieve an even texture throughout, we recommend that the machine be suitable for mixing very soft dough, batter or cake style mixes.
45 mL (15 fl oz) WATER OR 520 mL (17.5 fl oz ) MILK
1 packet (450 g / `5.8 oz) Orgran gluten free bread mix
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/ Place all ingredients into your machine
2/ Turn machine on to basic blend (rapid) loaf setting and start cycle
3/ When mixing begins use a plastic spatula and scrape flour from around the sides to ensure consistent mixing. If the mixing blades in the machine do not reach the sides, use a spatula to assist the dough mixing
4/ When loaf is baked, remove from tin as soon as possible and cool on cake rack for half hour before serving
*Delicious variations include the addition of other ingredients such as fruit & nuts or spices & herbs, etc. Cut bread slices into small cubes and place in oven until golden brown - use as croutons in soup.
