What is the raw food diet? It is an eating plan that consists entirely of uncooked, unprocessed foods. Raw foods, or foods in their natural state, include fresh or dried fruits, vegetables, sprouts, beans, whole grains and nuts.

Is eating nothing but raw foods healthy? Considering the raw food diet is heavy in nutrient-rich foods such as fruits and vegetables, it can be a healthy eating plan for some. Much like vegans, raw foodists should be vigilant about consuming enough calcium, iron, vitamin B12, vitamin D and omega-3 EFAs, as these nutrients are typically found in animal products that require cooking or pasteurizing.
